Rifle "Record"

 


Under this name, the Kalashnikov concern demonstrated the already well-known SV-98 rifle, which has undergone a deep modernization. In it, the gunsmiths tried to improve both the characteristics of the weapon and the shooting performance. Nothing is known about the latter yet, but they did quite well with the rifle itself. The length of the new sniper rifle in the unfolded state has become 70 millimeters less, and it has lost as much as 700 grams.

The design of the "Record" has been completely redesigned. Its layout has been upgraded and the forearm has been completely removed, and its functions are now performed by the receiver. In addition, there are many minor improvements in the design. The rifle has a new stock, ergonomics have been improved, and some design elements have been moved for greater ease of use. One of the interesting details was the updated store, now the seating for it is fully compatible with SVD stores, which are much more common and are not exotic. The rifle's caliber remains 7.62 millimeters, and it uses specialized high-precision cartridges.
