Rapira anti-drone complex

The dominance of drones has forced Russian specialists to urgently create air defense systems of a perfect new type that are capable of recognizing small targets, targeting them and successfully hitting them. It is for these purposes that the Rapira complex was developed, consisting of two installations: Rapira-2 and Rapira-3. They are very similar in design, but one is designed to destroy small drones, and the other is designed to destroy larger drones.

The Rapira-2 complex is equipped with a pair of 7.62 mm machine guns and is designed to destroy compact drones that are virtually invisible to conventional air defense systems. They are too small, they are not visible on radar, and it is simply impossible to shoot them down with missiles. An electron-optical system is used to track and target drones. Rapira-3 differs from it in its tracking systems and weapons: it is designed to hunt larger drones and is equipped with anti-aircraft missiles. Working together, both of these complexes can overwhelm almost any drone, of any size and any design. Otherwise, the differences between the two complexes are minimal. They are built on the same chassis and have the same driving characteristics.
